This tutorial will help you create a bootable USB flash drive for your Mac on a Windows computer. In order for this to work you should have a USB flash drive. Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8) Lion (OS X 10.7) Download the macOS Sierra installer. Launch the App Store app, then look for macOS Sierra in the store. (Here’s a link.) Click on the Download button. To boot from a CD or DVD: Restart your Mac while pressing the C key. This is a great way to free.

You should:
1) zap your PRAM, preferably with the tiny button on the board near the battery.
2) Make sure your keyboard is plugged directly into a port on the Mac, not on the display.
3) Make sure the OS 9 CD is in the CD Drive
4A) Hold down the C key, then power up -OR-
4B) Hold down the Option key, then power up into the Startup manager,
.. wait for the watch cursor to change to the pointer cursor,
.. select the OS 9 CD,
.. press the right-facing 'Go' arrow to boot from that device.
5) install Mac OS 9 (without erasing all) to place it on your drive in addition to Mac OS X
